Prop firm rules compared
The rules that decide your pass odds, for one popular program at each firm. Every cell comes from the firm’s own website or help center, linked in the last column.
Last checked: . Firms change rules often, sometimes monthly, and have several programs and account sizes. "Not stated on checked page" means we didn’t find it on the linked page, not that the rule doesn’t exist. Always read the current rules before you buy. Fees aren’t listed because they change with promotions.

What matters most for your odds
- Target vs max loss. With no edge, your pass chance is roughly max loss ÷ (target + max loss) before costs. A 10% target with a 7% static drawdown is about 41%; 10% with 10% is 50%; two phases multiply.
- Static vs trailing. A trailing limit follows your best balance up, so the room you have shrinks as you make money. For the same numbers it passes less often than a static limit.
- Daily limit: fail or pause? CFD firms usually fail the account on a daily breach. Topstep’s optional DLL and Apex’s EOD DLL only stop you for the session.
- Time limits and minimum days take away the option to wait out a bad run, or force extra trades that each pay costs.
